چکیده

BACKGROUND: Postoperative fibrinoid syndrome (PFS) is an early complication of phacoemulsification, manifested by fibrin deposition on the iris and intraocular lens surface, which leads to visual acuity decrease.
AIM: To assess rate treatment efficacy (by YAG laser, enzymatic, medicalmentous) in PFS after phacoemulsification.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospective analysis 56,019 cataract surgery cases 20172021. There were 49 patients with divided into 3 groups according approaches: 1st group medicamentous (MT) + laser destruction film (n = 6); 2nd MT prourokinase injection anterior chamber 3rd only 37).
RESULTS: was no difference between best-corrected (BCVA) before development. a more rapid increase BCVA compared one third day (0.20 0.09 0.21 0.08 versus for respectively, p 0.001) fifth (0.25 0.10 0.27 0.13 0.16 0.14, 0.029). Nevertheless, week, there groups. Unfortunately, did not return baseline any group.
CONCLUSION: The incidence phacoemulsification relatively low amounts 0.093%. most recovery observed

Intraoperative and postoperative complications of phacoemulsification in cataract eyes with pseudoexfoliation syndrome

Introduction/Objective Pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PEX) is an age-related systemic disorder characterized by deposition of fibrillary white flaky material mainly on the lens capsule, corneal endothelium, zonules, ciliary body, iris, and pupillary margin. Zonular weakness progressively increases along with the hardness of the lens, patient’s age, and the presence of glaucoma. The objective of th...

Phacoemulsification in pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome.

The aim is to present the phacoemulsification phaco-chop technique in a patient with pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome without the use of additional pupil dilatation methods. Phacoemulsification surgery and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in patients with PEX syndrome is associated with a higher rate of intraoperative complications such as zonular dehiscence, capsular rupture, vi...

We aimed at reporting the first case of rapidly progressive acute postoperative endophthalmitis after phacoemulsification cataract surgery in an immunocompetent patient caused by Rothia mucilaginosa. An immunocompetent patient manifested endophthalmitis signs 48 hours after an uncomplicated cataract surgery by phacoemulsification. A bacteria of the family Micrococcaceae was cultured in the vitr...
